About SnapKnot

SnapKnot was founded in early 2010 by Mike Rheaume and Reid Warner. Their friendship goes back to their first day at Dartmouth College where they were freshman year roommates. Mike Rheaume and Reid Warner,

They also had a chance to live together again after college while Reid was in graduate school at Harvard and Mike was working for a marketing firm in Boston.

Reid was married in 2007 and he and his wife had a very frustrating experience trying to find a wedding photographer.

“We wasted a lot of time on Google searches and on the popular wedding planning sites,” said Reid. “Comparing photographers this way wasn’t easy. We would find photographers who matched our criteria, but then later discover they were out of our budget. It was not a fun process.”

After Mike’s marketing firm became a victim of the 2008 financial crisis, he was looking to use his specialized knowledge and experience in a new venture. Based on Reid’s largely frustrating experience, he thought that there was a need in the marketplace for a service like SnapKnot. The inspiration for SnapKnot was born and both men jumped in with both feet. Neither Mike nor Reid are photographers or have any previous wedding industry experience. But they believe this “outsider’s perspective” gives them an advantage in challenging the bridal-industry norm, and in focusing on continuous innovation.

“Our goal is to make SnapKnot the go-to choice for engaged couples looking for a wedding photographer and for photographers to showcase their work and connect with potential clients,” said Mike. “We believe SnapKnot can make the process fun and successful for both couples and photographers.”
