Amour Amour: Australian & International Wedding Style!

Today we’d like to share our little Q&A session with Bonnie of
Amour Amour, a blog about Australian and international wedding style, fashion, and inspiration:

amour amour website

Who are you / What’s your story?

I am a 28-year-old Sydney sider who by day works in advertising for a glossy fashion magazine and by night blogs about all things weddings.

Why did you start Amour Amour?

I started Amour Amour 18 months ago after just a couple of months of engagement to my wonderful now husband. I spent a very long time online looking for amazing ideas and thought I would start a blog to record them. I figured if there was probably other women out there just like me who wanted a certain calibre of wedding resources and beautiful inspirations. When I started I really only read design and lifestyle blogs and didn’t know about all the other amazing wedding blogs that are out there. Maybe that’s a good thing though else I would probably never have started!

What can brides find at Amour Amour?

Amour Amour is an online destination that showcases elegant and stylish wedding resources from Australian and international sources to style and plan a beautiful wedding.

What makes you different from other wedding blogs/sites?

The very thing that I love about all the blogs and sites out in the world wide web is that each has its own unique voice. I like to think that readers of Amour Amour feel like they know me a little through my blog. Especially as I tend to write like how I speak… enthusiastic, passionate and somewhat of a verbal stream! The blog is also an extension of my aesthetic and I hope that offers readers something special.

Do you have any advice for other brides planning their weddings?

Every bride, every groom and every situation is so unique I try not to give advice as however as well intentioned as it isn’t always interpreted that way. Since you asked though, I suppose one piece of advice is to try to enjoy the planning and not see it as a chore. When it starts to get stressful just remember why you are doing it!

Why should brides avail themselves of online resources like Amour Amour?

Online resources were my saviour when planning my wedding. I adore magazines even more than most and still find myself buying wedding mags even now however exploring a site or a blog is something very special. The ease of being able to click-through to a supplier’s website, browse image galleries and be in direct, immediate contact with experts in the field is something that can only help a busy bride-to-be out.

Do you have regular categories or features on the blog or is it just as subjects come up?

It is a little bit of both. The Daily Inspirations series of cakes, flowers, styling, fashion and stationery has proved to be very popular with readers as has our occasional interviews with experts. Everyone loves a real wedding as well!

Anything else you want to share?

Ooh! That is a hard one. I have just celebrated one year of marriage and the memory of our beautiful wedding day still makes me smile. I am still passionate about inspiring brides to create their own memorable day and have lots of exciting things in store for Amour Amour.

Thanks for sharing, Bonnie!
