SnapKnot Makes Finding the Perfect Wedding Photographer a Snap

2011-05-25

SnapKnot’s free online wedding photographer directory provides a simple, photo centric way to search, making finding the perfect photographer a snap. Michael Rheaume and Reid Warner founded the company in January 2010, after Warner experienced the frustrations with finding a photographer first hand while planning his own wedding.

“We wasted a lot of time on Google searches and on the popular wedding planning sites,” said Warner. “Comparing photographers this way wasn’t easy. We would spend hours inefficiently searching through directories to find photographers whom we liked, but then later discovered they were out of our budget. It was not a fun process.”

The two former Dartmouth College roommates set out to revolutionize the wedding photography industry by being the first website dedicated to helping engaged couples find their perfect wedding photographer using an easy, fast, fun and photo centric tool.

“We don’t complicate our site with florists, dress guides or venue options, all of which we believe makes the ‘big media’ wedding sites overwhelming for brides. We also provide photographers with a way to showcase their work effectively with large, hi-res images on a platform that is superior to the tiny thumbnails commonly found on many directories,” said Rheaume.

SnapKnot’s focus on wedding photography and emphasis on visual search results allows couples to compare and contrast photographers’ work, and evaluate them based on style, portfolio images, experience and professional affiliations. With over 2,500 wedding photographers profiled on SnapKnot (http://SnapKnot.com), engaged couples can search for photographers by location and price range, as well as filter the search by photographers willing to travel.

SnapKnot offers many options to contact the photographers free of charge. Couples have the option to email the photographers directly, or they can visit them through their website and social networking sites. There is also the option to chat with the photographers in real time via an integration with Skype. Couples can also save a list of their favorite photographers right on the site to review later or to share with friends.
