About Photograffiti by Auey Santos

:Shooting with open eyes, and open mind and an open heart:

Specializing in photography crafted around a story and emotion, award-winning Auey Santos specializes in contemporary portraiture that reflects today's casual and fun lifestyle. Her photography always aims to capture the subject's true essence and personality without contrived poses or forced smiles. Incorporating organic and environmental elements to enhance the photographic experience, Auey works to keep the session fun and relaxed.

Starting out as a portrait artist in 2002, Auey slowly built a loyal clientelle via word-of-mouth and referrals branched out to wedding photography business. In 2006, Auey moved and transplanted her photography business to the Bay Area, where it has built a base of happy and satisfied customers.

Auey is a graduate of BA Broadcast Communication from the University of the Philippines Diliman. Her visual communication and photography training includes workshops and certificate courses from New York University, NYU Center for Digital Applications and the Golden Gate School of Professional Photography. She has studied under such photographic masters Yervant and Jesh de Rox in her pursuit of higher art.

She is currently an active member of the Professional Photographers of the Greater Bay Area, Wedding and Portraits Photographers International and Professional Photographers of America.

In September 2008, Auey was recognized as a "Certified Professional Photographer" by the Professional Photographic Certification Commission. The stringent exam and image critique standards are among the highest in the country, with less than 3% of professional photographers passing each year.
