Father’s Day is just around the corner, and if there is ever a perfect opportunity to highlight Papa Bear’s most cherished moments, it is now. The day that a dad sends his son or daughter off to start a family of their own is one they will never forget, and our many a wedding photographer are experts and have made it their life mission to capture every smile, sigh, and tear that comes along with that moment. In honor of the upcoming holiday, we had our talented community send in their best stories and photos of fathers of the bride and groom together on their wedding day.
Grab a tissue (or two) and check out some of our favorites:
“More often than not when a bride makes her first appearance after getting in her wedding dress the morning of, everyone is there to see it and all the bridesmaids, family and vendors are crowded around with their cameras to awe over how amazing she looks. It’s a great moment, undoubtedly. However at Christina and Dave’s wedding this past weekend, only her father was there to see his little girl walk down the steps in her wedding dress. It was one of the most special “first look” moments between a dad and his daughter that I have ever witnessed, and I have witnessed quite a few! I’m so happy I was able to capture dad’s expression of pure joy seeing his only daughter ready to get married!”
“Unfortunately, Breanna’s father has passed away, but that does not mean that he was not VERY present at her wedding. This is Breanna and her beautiful wife Katie dancing, with her proud father looking over them.”
“Ty Ryavec and her dad, Will Samson, have a very special and close relationship with each other. Ty grew up cooking with her dad, and is now a chef and food photographer in Brooklyn, NY. Even though they live in different states, Ty and her Dad talk on the phone almost every day. Not only did Will walk Ty down the aisle, but he also officiated the ceremony. In the picture of ‘the kiss’ you can see Will in the background smiling, happy and proud of his oldest daughter. It is such a sweet moment.”

“Kia Webb is ‘Daddy’s Little Girl’. While watching Kia and her father dance on her wedding night you could sense the sweet joy and love they both shared. Those who watched could see they shared a special bond that started long ago. The Father/Daughter dance was filled with happiness for all those who shared in the celebration.”
(Above) “This shot was taken right before the bride and her father walked out into the ceremony, there was a 5 minute waiting period before the doors opened to let the bride and her father enjoy a special moment alone.”
(Below) “This shot is a fun reminder that it doesn’t always have to be a sober moment between a father and his daughter on their wedding day. The first shot is the bride and her father dancing to “Gangnam Style” by PSY, even though the father of the bride had a broken foot that did not stop him from having a great time!”
