Tell us a bit about yourself.

We are Austin and Ashley, a husband and wife photography team in our late twenties. Before we shot weddings; we were a bride and groom. It wasn’t that long ago we were planning our own wedding. Yes, we remember how it sometimes feels like a full time job, but also remember how fun it was meeting new friends in the process.

Why did you choose to become a photographer?

We’ve built our business around the only experience we have…our own.  We aim to keep things fun, fresh and simple and came into wedding photography with an attempt to give bride and grooms a great experience with US.

How long have you been a photographer?

Austin has been a photographer for over 10 years, Ashley about 5 years. We’ve been solely doing wedding photography for 3 years.

How would you classify your style of photography?

We came into photography with a photo journalistic approach with attempts to capture every detail of the wedding day.  We do find it necessary to do some posing and staging to help our clients feel more comfortable in front of the camera. We love capturing the “moments” of a wedding day and catching the bridal party when they’re just hanging out and being themselves.

Who or what are some of your influences on either a personal or professional level?

We have many great photographer influences – the biggest are other husband and wife photography teams.  Our objectives are usually the same and we love photographers that share love and enjoy photographing love

Do you have any good wedding stories?

We have lots of wedding stories – crazy, funny, dramatic, intoxicated – you name it! I’d say our best stories happen between the hours of 10:00pm and midnight… :)

What’s your preferred type of camera equipment?

We are Canon freaks. We love our Canon 5D Mark ii’s and can’t wait for the new body to drop! We use Canon lenses, flashes and brackets.

What would you recommend for a couple just starting their search for a wedding photographer?

For a couple just starting their search: search the web, look at portfolios, but more importantly read and learn ABOUT the photographer(s). Who your photographer is as a person will be a tremendous reflection on your experience with him/her/them and we believe wedding photography is so much more than just following you around taking pictures of your day. It’s about your experience, your relationship with US, and the trust we build. We REALLY encourage pre-wedding day shoots, (engagements, bridals) so we can get to know each other and start building our relationship many months before your wedding day actually arrives.

Any fun personal facts we should know about you?
