SnapKnot Membership Tips for Our Photographers

We love all of our photographer members here at SnapKnot and we want to help you make the most out of your SnapKnot membership. It is so important to make every single one of your marketing dollars count to help your business soar and that is what we are here to help you with!

We want to make your SnapKnot membership experience is pleasant and helpful to your business. Whether you are just starting off in your first 30 days, you have only been with SnapKnot for a few months or you have been a dedicated member from the beginning, here are some tips that we think are SO IMPORTANT to getting the most bang for your buck during your SnapKnot membership.

1) Have a goal and set the proper expectation.

Make sure to remember that SnapKnot was not built like other sites that you may have used in the past, or are still using. Our intentional goal is to send you a smaller number of well qualified couples that are more likely to book their wedding or engagement session with you rather than a large volume of unqualified couples that will end up wasting much of your time, which in turn costs you money, where you get little or no result. The key here at SnapKnot is less volume with a higher quality and much more efficiency.

If you receive a few matches during your first 30 days, that is a GREAT start and you should definitely consider a continuation beyond the trial. Be sure to continue to nurture those leads, as well as new ones that you receive, but we do not want  you to to necessarily expect to land a bunch of bookings right away in that first month. Closing the deal with a couple takes time and patience. You know as well as anyone that the key is to continue the dialogue with the matches you receive. Engaged couples are BUSY! There is so much planning to do for any wedding, and it is hard work on top of anyone’s every day life, to respond back to leads.

We want you to set a realistic goal for how long you are committed to giving the SnapKnot system a try. We have seen our system work and we recommend giving your SnapKnot membership at least 6 months. 2) Make sure to publish your profile ASAP!

What good does your SnapKnot membership do if you do not have an active profile that engaged couples can search for? Your profile is your main marketing tool for your business on our site. Make the most of it and be sure to show off all the amazing work that you do! If you have just signed up and haven’t already done so, sign in to your SnapKnot dashboard, fill out your profile and upload images. Once you’ve finished, you can publish your profile that will instantly display your work to the engaged couples in your area. Not only will you be visible through search and receive SEO benefits, but you will also be eligible to claim couple matches that come in through our SnapKnot Lead Match System.

3) Utilize all the city listings you can on your profile.

You are paying for a specific membership, so be sure to utilize all the options that are available on your profile. Make sure you include as many city listings as you can – if you are a Pro member, you get 5 city listings, if you are an Elite member, you are allowed to list 10 cities. The cities that you list are also important. Many members decide to test out larger cities vs smaller cities or towns depending on the areas they prefer to shoot. We have seen more success in the more popular cities. If you are willing to travel, it is always good to make sure you check that box so couples know when looking at your profile. And you can add cities out of the state or country to get that extra exposure in specific destinations.

4) Showcase your best work!

If you are an Elite or Pro member, you can upload unlimited photos to your profile! We recommend showcasing at least 20-30 photos of your best work. If your services offer wedding photographer, engagement and bridal sessions, trash the dress or boudoir photos, include some examples of each on your profile for couples and brides to see. Your photography is your main marketing tool and if you have gorgeous work, show it off!

Photographer promo videos are also very important to your business. Read our blog on photographer promo videos to see how you can benefit. Elite members are able to showcase up to 5 HD videos on their profile; Pro members can showcase 3. If you have a video that talks about the work that you do, or you have video of a wedding in the past… by all means, include it on your SnapKnot profile.

5) Follow up with matched couples more than once.

As long as you remain in your SnapKnot membership you will be able to continue to communicate with matched couples. Couples are busy and at different stages of the planning process, so even if you do not initially hear back it does not mean that the lead is “bad” or that they are not interested. After waiting a week or two, try and send a follow up message. Then continue to follow up every few weeks to see if the couple is still looking for a photographer. Just remember that until a couple gives you a definite “no” (or “YES!”) response they are still a potential new client!

6) Check for any leads on a regular basis. 

There is no point in waiting for us to email you saying you have received a lead. Make sure you check regularly on your leads… you do not want to keep an engaged couple waiting!

7) Take advantage of the SnapKnot blog!

Each month, we will be sending out an email to all of our member photographers with upcoming blog post topics we will be featuring. Be on the lookout for that email and if the topics listed include something you have awesome photos of, please send them in! We want to help our photographers as much as we can, to bring you the best leads that we can. You can always submit real weddings or engagements anytime here as well.

8) Follow all of our social media pages.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google+, Instagram and StumbleUpon. We post information about members, amazing photos, educational posts, giveaways and much more.
