Tell us about yourself and your business!

“My name is Ashley Greene and I recently became a bride myself in February of 2015! I am married to the absolute love of my life, my soul mate, Robert who also just happens to be my second shooter and partner in crime! I am super friendly, easy-going and I love working with people and getting to know my couples and their stories! I love anything that is “vintage” and often find myself traveling to thrift stores and antique markets looking for the next find to use as a prop or to display in my home. Interior design and decorating is my second passion and I consider myself to be super crafty!

My business’s name is “Bella Art Photography“.  I chose “Bella Art” because my Italian heritage is close to my heart and in Italian “Bella” means beautiful. I wanted my business’s name to exemplify exactly what I hope to produce through my photographs… “beautiful art”. To me, photos are not something that should be taken, then forgotten and stored inside a box in a closet or left on a CD. Images should evoke emotion and are meant to be shared, printed, and displayed. My goal is to deliver “beautiful art” that will grace the walls of my clients’ homes and leave them with something tangible to remember their special day with.”

How did you get into the photography industry?

“I have been super passionate about photography as far back as I can recall. My grandmother ALWAYS had a camera in her hand and captured practically every moment of my childhood and that of my siblings’ and cousin’s on film. I remember as I got older I gravitated towards those photographs and every time I went to her house I would ask her to get out her albums full of pictures so I could sit and look at them. Looking at those image would entertain me for hours! About six years ago I purchased a canon rebel t2i to take pictures of a concert I was going to and my passion for portraits and photography was reignited again. I started taking portraits for friends and family as just a hobby and word spread like wild fire! In 2011 I decided to turn it into a legitimate business and seriously upgraded all of my equipment and Bella Art Photography was born!”

What’s your favorite thing to photograph?

“I started my business out by focusing on family and portrait photography but after I did my first wedding, I was hooked! I decided to concentrate my focus on engagements and weddings. I guess you could say I’m in love with love, a romantic at heart and a total sap! I find myself tearing up at ceremonies all the time and there is nothing I would rather capture than the love that two people share.”

What’s your photography style?

“I would say that my “style” of photography is timeless, romantic and photojournalistic. I am all about capturing the candid, behind the scene moments that a bride and groom might not get to witness on their whirlwind wedding day. Those moments are genuine and real and captivate your emotions. At the same time, my favorite part of a wedding day is when I get to steal the bride and groom and create romantic images that will remain timeless and beautiful no matter what decade we enter.”

What’s your favorite wedding moment to capture?

“My favorite moment to capture is when the groom sees his bride for the very first time!  There is such raw, built up emotion in that moment that you can’t help but feel it too!  Because I’m such a fan of this specific “moment” I highly recommend that couples consider doing a “first look”.  It’s becoming more and more popular because it’s a more intimate method for the groom to see his bride for the first time and allows the photographer to have more time to capture the various expressions.”

What’s a fun fact about you?

I have four dogs who I consider to be my “children” because they are absolutely spoiled!  They range in size from XS-Large and their names are Rocky, Tazzy, Pepper and Diamond.  If I could have a farm simply for the purpose of adopting abused/abandoned animals I would!!!
